
Kentucky State Police Investigate Fatal Collision in Boyle County
JUNCTION CITY, Ky. (July 23, 2025) – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, was contacted just before 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2025, in reference to a multi vehicle collision at the intersection of US-127 and Knob Lick Road in Boyle County.
The initial investigation indicates a 2015 Ford Explorer operated by Frederick Cummings, 81, of Junction City, was traveling east on West Knob Lick Road and failed to yield to a traffic control device and disregarded a stop sign. As a result, his vehicle entered the intersection and collided with a 2011 Ford F-250 traveling south on US-127, driven by Christopher Roy, 39, of Liberty, KY.
The impact caused Mr. Cummings vehicle to be pushed into the path of a 2011 Chevy Impala, operated by Walker Carmicle, 25, of Stanford, KY, which was traveling north on US-127. The Impala then struck a 2020 Ram 2500, operated by Melvin Lister, 37, of Hustonville, KY, which had been stopped at a stop sign on East Knob Lick Road.
As a result of the collision, Frederick Cummings, 81 years old of Junction City was fatally injured and pronounced deceased by the Boyle County Coroners Office. Walker Carmicle was transported to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville with non-life-threatening injuries.
Trooper Tyler Holt is conducting the ongoing collision investigation. He was assisted on scene by Kentucky State Police personnel, Boyle County Sheriffs Office, Boyle County EMS, Boyle County Emergency Management, Junction City Fire Department, and Boyle County Coroner’s Office.
