Kentucky State Police Conducts Death Investigation in Madison County

Richmond, KY. (August 1, 2022)  – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was contacted by Madison County Detention Center on Sunday, July 31, 2022 just after 3:30 am, in reference to an unresponsive inmate.

KSP Post 7 Detectives and the Madison County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene.

Preliminary investigation revealed William Martin, 58 years of age reportedly had trouble breathing and was transported to Baptist Health after becoming unresponsive. Martin was pronounced deceased by the Madison County Coroner.

An autopsy will be performed at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort. Foul play is not suspected.
