Kentucky State Police Investigate Fatal Traffic Collision in Morgan County

WHITE OAK, Ky. (January, 15, 2026) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) post 8 Morehead received a call from West Liberty Dispatch around 8:00 a.m. requesting assistance with a single vehicle fatality collision on US 460 East near the Magoffin County Line. 

Preliminary investigation reveals that Roger Ball, 84 of West Liberty Kentucky, was traveling West bound on US 460 when his 2022 Ford truck dropped off the side of the roadway into a small grassy area traveling straight ahead and striking an embankment. Mr. Ball was pronounced deceased by Morgan County Coroner Shawn Vancleave at the scene. 

KSP was assisted on scene by Morgan County EMS, Morgan County Rescue Squad, White Oak Fire Department, Morgan County Sheriff’s Department and Morgan County Coroner’s Office. The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Brian Evans.
