Kentucky State Police Morehead Investigate Fatal Collision in Morgan County

WEST LIBERTY, Ky. (October 3, 2024) – Kentucky State Police Post 8 Morehead received a call for assistance from West Liberty dispatch around 2:13 p.m. in reference to a fatal collision.

Troopers responded to KY 519 near the intersection of Hot Mix Road in Morgan County.  Through investigation, it was determined that a black passenger car was traveling North bound on KY 519 when it crossed over the centerline into the Southbound lane into the path of a yellow box truck.  The operator of the passenger car a female whom was identified as Montana Price, 31 years of age, from West Liberty, Kentucky, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Morgan County Coroner Shawn Vancleave.

The box truck was operated by Braden Evans, 29 years of age, from Grayson, Kentucky.  Mr. Evans was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington for non-life threatening injuries.  Zachary Martin, 36 years of age, also from Grayson a passenger in the truck was transported by ambulance to St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead for his injuries. 

Kentucky State Police were assisted on scene by Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Morgan County Coronor’s Office, Morgan County EMS, Morgan County Rescue Squad and 519 Volunteer Fire Department.
