Fleming County death Investigation

This incident remains under investigation

Flemingsburg, KY. (November 12, 2019) –Kentrucky State Police Post 8 Morehead received a call from the Fleming County Dispatch regarding a juvenile death. A juvenile was transported to Fleming County Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by Fleming County Coroner Winston Grannis.  The cause of death is undetermined at this time.  Kentucky State Police detectives, through their investigation, was able to arrest James McCord, 25 years of age, of Flemingsburg, Ky., in connection to the juvenile’s death.  James McCord is charged with Unlawful Transaction with a Minor, first degree and lodged in the Mason County Detention Center.  Kentucky State Police was assisted by Flemingsburg Police Department, Fleming County EMS and Fleming County Coroners Office.  This incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Morehead.
