Kentucky State Police Investigate Fatal Collision

Bath County, Ky. (December 9, 2025) – On Monday, December 8, Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 8 was contacted by Bath County Dispatch at approximately 5:15 p.m.  in reference to a single vehicle injury collision around the 2300 block of KY 36. 

Preliminary investigation indicates that Robert K. Brown, 43 years of age, of Sharpsburg Kentucky was operating his 2000 GMC Sierra pickup East bound on KY 36 when he lost control of his truck causing it to leave the roadway and overturn coming to rest on its top. Mr. Brown was transported to St. Joseph hospital in Mt. Sterling were he later succumbed to his injuries.  

KSP was assisted by Owingsville Police Department, Owingsville Fire Department, Bath County EMS, Bath County Sheriff’s Department and Montgomery County Coroner. The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Blake Carver.
