Kentucky State Police Investigate Fatal Collision in Wolfe County

CAMPTON, Ky. (March, 22, 2026) – On Saturday March 21, 2026, at approximately 3:50 p.m. Kentucky State Police (KSP) was contacted by Wolfe County Dispatch regarding a two vehicle fatal traffic collision near the 2400 block of KY 191.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2003 Ford Explorer operated by Michael Brand, 49 of Campton Kentucky, crossed over the center line and struck a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 pickup operated by Troy L. Perry, 51 of Campton Kentucky. Mr. Perry was pronounced deceased on scene by Wolfe County Coroner Frank Porter. Michael Brand was transported to University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington for his injuries. Veranda Brand, 18 of Campton Kentucky, whom was a passenger with Mr. Brand was transported to Clark Regional Medical Center for her injuries.

KSP was assisted on scene by Wolfe County Sheriff’s Department, Wolfe County Fire and EMS and Wolfe County Coroner’s Office. The collision is being reconstructed and remains under investigation by Trooper Leoncio Leal.
