Kentucky State Police Investigate Fatal Collision in Rowan County

FARMERS, Ky. (April, 16, 2026) – On Wednesday April 15, 2026 Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 8 Morehead received a call from Rowan County Sheriff’s Office around 3:30 p.m. requesting assistance with a fatal collision on KY 801. 

Preliminary investigation determined that a Blue Ford Explorer was traveling Southbound on KY 801 when it crossed the centerline and struck a Black Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Christopher Adkins, 23 of Morehead Kentucky. Mr. Adkins was transported by Morehead-Rowan County EMS to UK St. Claire where he later succumbed to his injuries. 

KSP was assisted on scene by Rowan County Sheriff’s Department, Morehead-Rowan EMS, Farmers Fire Department and Rowan County Coroner’s Office. This collision remains under investigation and is being reconstructed by Trooper Dakota Rasche.
