Kentucky State Police Conduct Death Investigation

STANTON, Ky. (July, 9, 2025) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 8 in Morehead was contacted by Powell County Coroner on June 23, 2025 in reference to a death investigation at an Airbnb in Powell County.

When investigators arrived on scene they located a deceased female inside the residence from an apparent drug overdose.  She was identified as Kristen Morris, 32, of Winchester, Kentucky.  

After a lengthy investigation KSP Detectives arrested Brian P. Epperson, 44, of Winchester, Kentucky charging him with one count of Murder.

KSP was assisted by Powell County Coroner’s Office and Winchester Police Department. The case remains under investigation by Detective Brad Watson.
