Kentucky State Police Post 8 Investigate Fatal Collision in Bath County

OWINGSVILLE, Ky. (September, 04, 2026) – On Sunday August 30 at approximately 1:30 p.m., Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 8 was notified by Bath County Dispatch of an injury collision on US 60 West.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Lacy D. Fawn, 52 of Sharpsburg, was traveling East bound on US 60 when he left the roadway and struck several trees. Mr. Fawn was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling and later transferred to the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington. Mr. Fawns succumbed to his injuries he received in the collision on Thursday September 3. 

KSP was assisted on scene by Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, Bath County EMS, Owingsville Police Department and Owingsville Fire Department. The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Tanner Tout.
