Kentucky State Police Post 8 Investigate Fatal ATV Collision

STANTON, Ky. (September, 09, 2026) – On Tuesday September 8, around 8:00 p.m., Kentucky State Police (KSP) received a call from Powell County Dispatch requesting assistance with a fatal ATV collision near the 1500 block of Cat Creek Road.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Deloris Kay Huff, 70 of Clay City Kentucky, along with her three grandchildren were on her Honda ATV on Cat Creek Road. The ATV left the roadway and overturned in a ditch. Mrs. Huff along with the three juveniles were transported to Centerpoint Health in Winchester. Mrs. Huff was pronounced deceased upon arrival at Centerpoint Health. The three juveniles remain in the hospital at this time. One juvenile is listed in critical condition, while the other two are expected to be released sometime today.

KSP was assisted on scene by Stanton Fire Department, Powell County EMS and Stanton Police Department. The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Jordan Barnett.
