Kentucky State Police Opens Death Investigation in Martin County    

The case remains open and is being led by Detective Tony Tackett.  

Beauty, KY (October 25, 2018) Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post 09 has opened a death investigation on Popular Fork in Martin County.

 

Post 09 was notified of a structure fire around 10:30 Thursday morning with someone possibly trapped inside. Post 09 dispatched the arson investigator and a detective to the scene. As the investigation began and  the remains of one (1) unidentified person were located and pronounced deceased by the Martin County Coroner. 

The deceased was removed and taken to the Medical Examiner’s office in Frankfort for an autopsy and positive identification.

At this time it appears this is an accidental death. The case remains open and is being led by Detective Tony Tackett.
