KSP Investigates Fatal Collision in Johnson County

Just before 8 AM, Martin County 911 notified Post 09 of a two-vehicle collision on KY RT. 3 near the Federal prison.

 

When Troopers arrived on the scene they discovered a passenger vehicle had rear ended a commercial vehicle on the roadway

 

The operator of the passenger vehicle Timothy Rice (59) years of age from Betsy Layne was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Martin County Coroner’s office. The operator of the commercial vehicle had no apparent injuries.

 

Alcohol or drugs are not suspected at this time, pending toxicology results. Further details will be released as they become available
