Kentucky State Police Investigates Two Vehicle Fatal Collision in Pike County

META, Ky. (July 14, 2026) – Kentucky State Police Post 9 is investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred at approximately 10:39 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, on U.S. 119 in the Meta community of Pike County.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Harley Dempsey was operating a Mitsubishi Eclipse and traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of U.S. 119 when the vehicle collided with a Chevrolet Traverse operated by Stony Blackburn.

Harley Dempsey was pronounced deceased by the Pike County Coroner’s Office.

The collision remains under investigation by KSP Accident Reconstructionist Detective Joshua Scott. Detective Scott was assisted at the scene by personnel from Kentucky State Police Post 9 and other local first responder agencies.
