On August 17, 2026, KSP Post 9 dispatch received a report of a possible impaired driver operating a white Chevrolet pickup truck that had struck another vehicle and fled the scene in the Dorton community of Pike County.
Troopers located the vehicle near the intersection of U.S. 23 and Innovation Way and observed that one of the pickup’s rear tires had been damaged and was deflated. Troopers activated their emergency equipment, but the driver failed to stop, and a pursuit ensued.
The pursuit continued onto Innovation Way, where troopers successfully deployed a tire deflation device, deflating one of the pickup’s front tires. The driver continued to flee onto a dirt roadway, where the vehicle eventually became stuck.

He was lodged in the Pike County Detention Center and is currently charged with Fleeing or Evading Police, First Degree, Reckless Driving, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, Leaving Scene of an Accident and Additional traffic-related offenses.
