Kentucky State Police Post 9 Arrest Pikeville Man on Drug Charges

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (August 20, 2026) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) arrested a Pikeville man following an ongoing drug investigation that led to the seizure of a large quantity of suspected illegal drugs.

On August 17, 2026, troopers with KSP Post 9’s Street Crimes Unit were attempting to locate 45-year-old William Cody West of Pikeville as part of an ongoing illegal drug investigation. West was located in the parking lot of the Scholar House apartments in downtown Pikeville and taken into custody.

During the arrest, West was found in possession of approximately 1.1 pounds of suspected methamphetamine and approximately 2 grams of suspected fentanyl. Additionally, 20 suspected pressed fentanyl tablets and drug paraphernalia were located and seized from West’s vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, West was arrested and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center. He was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree (Methamphetamine); Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree (Fentanyl); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; and several unrelated arrest warrants.
