Kentucky State Police Post 9 Arrest Two Individuals on Drug Charges

BELFRY, Ky. (August 26, 2026) – The Kentucky State Police arrested two individuals following a traffic stop that led to the seizure of a large quantity of suspected illegal drugs.

On August 26, 2026, troopers with Kentucky State Police Post 9 conducted a traffic stop on a 2024 Ford Edge in the Belfry community of Pike County. KSP Post 9 Street Crimes Unit had developed information indicating the vehicle was involved in transporting illegal drugs into Pike County.

During the traffic stop, troopers located approximately 130 grams of suspected methamphetamine inside the glove box of the vehicle. The driver, Delbert Chambers, and passenger, Terrell Wright, were both arrested at the scene and transported to the Pike County Detention Center.

Upon arriving at the detention center, Chambers was found to be in possession of approximately 60 grams of suspected fentanyl and 10 suspected MDMA tablets. The items were concealed in a makeshift hole cut into his undergarments.

The following individuals were arrested and charged in connection with the investigation:

Delbert Chambers, 42, of Ohio, was arrested and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center on charges of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl), Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (LSD), Promoting Contraband, and a speed related traffic violation.

Terrell Wright, 45, of Ohio, was arrested and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center on charges of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and Failure to Wear Seat Belts.
