Kentucky State Police Post 9 Arrest Pikeville Man on Drug Charges

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (September 22, 2026) – The Kentucky State Police arrested a Pikeville man following a traffic stop that led to the seizure of a large quantity of suspected illegal drugs.

On September 26, 2026, troopers with Kentucky State Police Post 9 conducted a traffic stop on a 2007 Nissan Titan in the Prestonsburg community of Floyd County. KSP Post 9 Street Crimes Unit developed information which indicated the vehicle was involved in transporting illegal drugs into Pike County.

During the traffic stop, troopers located approximately 159 grams of suspected methamphetamine concealed behind a plastic panel on the vehicle.

As a result of this investigation, Timothy Beavers, 43, of Pikeville, was arrested and lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center on charges of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Operating Motor Vehicle under the Influence, and additional traffic related violations.
