UPDATE: Kentucky State Police Arrests Glasgow Man Following Hart County Collision

July 5, 2025, as a result of the collision, the female juvenile succumbed to her injuries at Norton Children’s Hospital.

Mr. Bowles has been charged with the following offenses:
– Two counts of first-degree assault
– Two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment
– Fourth-degree assault

The investigation is ongoing and is being led by Detective Bo Hubbard.

HORSE CAVE, KY. (May 30, 2025) – Just before 7:00 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Post 3 received a call about an injury collision. Troopers arrived at the scene at the 59-mile marker southbound on Interstate 65.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a 2014 Ford Focus, operated by 23-year-old Dru Smith of Glasgow, was parked along the side of the roadway. A 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander, driven by 31-year-old Cory Bowles, also of Glasgow, was traveling southbound when it veered off the roadway and collided with Mr. Smith’s parked vehicle.

Mr. Bowles was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital along with Mindy Bowles. Mrs. Bowles was later air lifted University of Louisville Hospital. In addition, a male juvenile passenger in Mr. Bowles vehicle was also taken to T.J. Samson Community Hospital and a female juvenile passenger was airlifted to Norton Children’s Hospital. Dru Smith the operator of the Ford Focus was airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital.
